23 Weeks

Time for an update! We have been really busy around here, as this past weekend was PawPaw Hightower's funeral, and also our 6-year wedding anniversary. I am so thankful that Carter and PawPaw Hightower were able to meet one another.

I have been home this month, and bring him to the sitter later in the morning so I can run errands and get things done! Carter has been doing great, and has been on rice cereal for over a week now. The pediatrician suggested waiting until 6 months, but the little guy was just too hungry. He still working on trying to crawl, he has a full-belly giggle, sucks his thumb and toes, and has new fuzzy hair that sticks staight up. He also purses his lips together, sometimes smacking. He looks like an old man. Here are some recent pics - two are watching his videos (he is watching PraiseBaby right now - the music is peaceful and he likes watching all the other little babies), and one is what he looks like after his daddy fed him cereal. When his dad isn't feeding him, Carter is a fairly neat eater. He even uses the bib to wipe his mouth. However, he did grab the spoon out of my hand and put it in his, slinging cereal everywhere. Father's Day

Carter spent Father's Day by going to church with the family at PawPaw Eric's church. Carter made it to the serman, then BeBe had to take him to the nursery, but it all went better than expected! After lunch, we headed back to Houston, so Carter could give his dad a first Father's day hug and see his Granny and Papaw. Carter gave Steve a book and a new robe. Then it was bathtime, since he only got "washcloth baths" at BeBe's. He wanted to stay in the tub and play so long he got "pruny". He was lounging in it like he was in a hot tub.

20 weeks 5 days

Cute pics of CWH "standing" on his diaper changing pad. He loves to "stand" and "sit-up" like a big boy. I put away his newborn and 0-3 monthes clothes yesterday . He's starting to look more like a toddler to me. CWH is headed to good old BC to visit family tomorrow.

20 weeks 1 day

CWH is doing great. He can now flip from his back to his tummy to his back again (if he has enough room). He enjoyed BeBe's stay. CWH continues to like watching TV - I worry he watches too much already. He likes pretty girls (e.g. Teri Hatcher). He's also watched baseball and car racing. Today we watched Baby Einstein for the first time. It was a language DVD. I assumed it meant the English language. Apparently not. It was CWH and my first experience hearing the Japanese alphabet, Hebrew alphabet, etc. I think we will stick to Veggie Tales.
