9 weeks 3 days

Yesterday, we drove up to Conroe to visit Steve's grandparents. It was the first time Carter met his great-grandmother, MawMaw Hightower. Unfortuntely, Papaw Hightower is still in the hospital, so they weren't able to meet each other yet. We had a nice lunch with the Hightower family, and Carter did well at the restaurant. So far, Conroe is the farthest Carter has been from home.
Today, we all left for church on Easter Sunday church service 45 minutes early. We managed to get all 7 off us out the door on time (getting ready had been a bit of a circus!)- Steve, myself, Carter, PopPop, BeBe, Lindsay and Scotty. Turns out there was a major wreck on 610 that workers had been trying to clear for 5 hours, so we ended up sitting in traffic for an hour! By the time we would have made it to church, it would have been over, so we headed over to the restaurant. We had a lovely Sunday brunch at Seco's Latin Cuisine. Carter slept perfectly the whole time. Back home, we opened Easter baskets. Yes, Steve and I still get a basket even though we are 31...Carter had two baskets! He got diapers, bottles, a bottle warmer for the car, rattles, stuffed animals. Joan monogrammed him a beautiful blanket and some precious burp cloths. It was a very special first easter, and he looked precious in his sweet easter outfit Bebe bought.
